February 28-The SeaTac Police Department’s Traffic Unit will be conducting another emphasis next week, focusing on pedestrian safety. On Wednesday, March 4, SeaTac PD Traffic Units will be watching the crosswalks along International Boulevard South. They will be contacting drivers who drive through crosswalks while they are occupied by pedestrians.
Washington Law requires drivers stop and remain stopped when a pedestrian or bicycle is upon, or within one lane of, the half of the roadway upon which the vehicle is traveling. That standard applies regardless of how many lanes there are on the driver’s side of the roadway.
