City Council agreed to an interlocal agreement Tuesday between the Port of Seattle and the City for court and prosecution services.

The Port of Seattle approached the City earlier this year requesting to move criminal filings on airport property from the King County District Court over to SeaTac.

The change would mean that SeaTac would hire another attorney and a judicial support specialist to meet the demand from the additional cases brought forth to the city. It is expected that the added case load will result in a spending increase of over $376 thousand dollars, which would be offset by revenues from the Port.

The Port’s Commission unanimously approved the agreement earlier this week.
