Twenty-five recruit firefighters graduated from the South King County Fire Training Consortium recruit academy on May 19 with six expected to be stationed in SeaTac.

Fifteen of the graduating firefighters are from Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority.

The City of SeaTac contracts with PSRFA for its fire services. SeaTac has two fire stations located in the City. The PSRFA also serves Kent, Covington and Maple Valley,

In addition to the PSRFA, departments that had recruits in this academy were King County Fire District #2, King County Sherriff Office Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighter (ARFF) Unit, Mountain View Fire & Rescue, and the Renton Regional Fire Authority.  During the graduation ceremony, the recruit firefighters received their badges and made the transition to probationary firefighters. 

Puget Sound Fire employs more than 300 uniformed and civilian employees which includes 232 full-time firefighter positions.
